ENGINEERING AND CERTIFICATIONRenovias was elected by Artesp for the second consecutive year as the best concessionaire in the State of São Paulo. It ranked among the  nalists in three of the  ve categories and won in the Road Improvement category. Among engineering and conservation actions, Renovias invested R$36.3 million in 2016. In equipment, vehicles and control systems (ITS), the contribution was in the order of R$7.6 million. In addition, in 2016, Renovias handed over more than R$2.1 million to charitable projects and agencies, through the Culture Incentive Law (Rouanet Law), Sports Incentive Law, and the Funds of, Children’s Rights and Adolescents’ and the Elderly.LEGACYThe ViaRio consortium went into operation in 2016, with the inauguration of the Transolímpica expressway, a 26 km stretch that links the west to the north of Rio de Janeiro. The stretch is one of the main legacies of the Rio 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games in urban mobility. It has 18 Bus and Rapid Transit (BRT) stations and terminals, that serve the population and help minimize traf c in adjacent neighborhoods.It is estimated that this new route will receive up to 55,000 vehicles a day and bene t 70,000 BRT passengers per day. Resources of the order of R$2.2 billion were injected. Also worth highlighting, is the Respect, Protect, Guarantee. All Together for the Rights of Children and Adolescents, focusing on the protection of this demographic during the 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games, which was part of the “Rio 2016: Olympics of the Rights of Children and Adolescents”, a continuation project of the action promoted for The 2014 FIFA World Cup, which, at the time, aimed to combat child sexual exploitation.45
