MODERN MANAGEMENTEcoponte is the group’s newest asset and responsible for the management of 23.3 km of highway extension, including the Rio-Niterói Bridge, since 2015. As early as 2016, the concessionaire invested R$65 million in works of infrastructure and safety improvements, engineering and monitoring, from operational bays, to the extension of ramps and viaducts and installation of routes to enable access to the opposite carriageway and bus stops.BRAZILIAN BENEFITThe concessionaire Ecocataratas is responsible for one of the most important corridors of agricultural out ow from the West of Paraná and Mato Grosso do Sul to the port of Paranaguá. The BR-277 is also the route to the Waterfalls of Iguaçu and to the border with Paraguay and Argentina. The BR-277 has about 11 million vehicles circulating per year, 55% destined to the transport of freight. The concessionaire invested more than R$75 million in improvements and maintenance works in 2016, and included an addendum of R$85 million (not foreseen in the initial concession contract) related to the dual carriageway works of BR-277, to be carried out from 2016 to 2018.AWARD FOR INNOVATIONEcopistas was the winner in the innovation category of the 2015 Concessionary of the Year Award, granted by Artesp, which was presented in April 2016.
